We use the same garlic bread recipe as my garlic bread rolls recipe so if you have already tried my rolls recipe you will love my garlic swirl.

We used a mixture of white and brown spelt flour for this recipe.

This is a vegan garlic bread recipe but is does contain gluten.

Bake this tasty garlic bread swirl for yourself and see how comforting it is to take a piece of a big swirl of freshly homemade garlic bread.

Small dish of water
Oil to brush (optional)

How to make a Garlic Bread Swirl Recipe

Slice the dough into 2 pieces.

Roll out the dough into a long rectangle shape.

Take the garlic butter and spread it onto the rolled out dough.

Leave a gap on the left side - spread the garlic butter right to the edge on the right side of the dough.

See the gap on the left hand side - this is because the left side will be the end of the garlic bread swirl.

See the gap at the top of the dough.

Spread right up the the edge on the right hand side.

Take the bottom end of the dough and begin to roll the garlic bread up.

Dip your fingers in some water and dab the top edge of the dough.

Pull the top over the rolled up dough and seal with your fingers.

Turn the rolled up dough over - this is so the sealed side is facing down - you want the line underneath the bread.

Take the right hand side of the rolled up dough and begin to roll the dough into a swirl shape.

Dip your fingers in the water and seal the garlic bread swirl by tucking the end underneath the bread.

Place into a greased and floured pie dish.

Cover and leave in a warm place to double in size.

Once the garlic bread has risen you can brush the bread with oil if desired.

Bake in a hot oven at 200C for 15-20 minutes or until golden.

Remove garlic bread swirl straight from the pie dish and cool on a wire rack.
