A traditional hummus recipe is made using chickpeas and ground sesame seeds (tahini).
Butter bean hummus can be a delicious variation of the traditional hummus recipe.
Instead of tahini I use cashew nut butter to give a creamy and nutty flavour to this delectable hummus recipe.
My recipe is really easy and quick to make.

Add other tsp of cashew nut butter and pinch of salt, blend again.

Once the butter bean hummus is blended into a smooth paste you can add tiny drops of fresh cold water to loosen the hummus if you prefer more of a loose consistency.
Spread into a bowl and garnish with cashew and pine nuts, fresh basil/coriander/mint leaves and a drizzle of olive oil.

Wow that looks creamy and delcious. I can imagine eating them all myself.
Butter bean! Yes, why didn't I ever think of that. I've used many types of beans in my hummus, but never thought of butter bean. Very clever of you!
