Butter Bean Hummus Recipe

A traditional hummus recipe is made using chickpeas and ground sesame seeds (tahini).

Butter bean hummus can be a delicious variation of the traditional hummus recipe.

Instead of tahini I use cashew nut butter to give a creamy and nutty flavour to this delectable hummus recipe.

My recipe is really easy and quick to make.

See my caramelized onion hummus recipe for more tasty ideas.

Ingredients for Butter bean Hummus Recipe

400g Tin Butter beans
2 heaped tsp Cashew nut Butter
Juice of 1/2 Small Lemon Juice
2-3 Tbsp Olive Oil
Pinch Salt
1 tsp White Wine Vinegar
1-2 Garlic Cloves (chopped)

How to Make Chef Jeenas Butter bean Hummus Recipe

Place garlic, beans, lemon juice, olive oil, vinegar and 1 heaped tsp of cashew nut butter into a blender and blend until smooth.

Add other tsp of cashew nut butter and pinch of salt, blend again.

Once the butter bean hummus is blended into a smooth paste you can add tiny drops of fresh cold water to loosen the hummus if you prefer more of a loose consistency.

Spread into a bowl and garnish with cashew and pine nuts, fresh basil/coriander/mint leaves and a drizzle of olive oil.

Enjoy Chef Jeenas tasty butter bean hummus recipe.

Butter bean! Yes, why didn't I ever think of that. I've used many types of beans in my hummus, but never thought of butter bean. Very clever of you!
